Frequently Asked Questions

Of the many things you measured in this study, which ones do you think pose the greatest threat to people, fish or wildlife?
Certainly, chemicals with established drinking water standards or other human or ecological health criteria have the most well understood threat to human or ecological health. Known or suspected hormonally active chemicals also are of concern, particularly when considering that they may be found in mixtures that could have additive effects. Additional information is available from other agencies such as the U.S. Food and Drug Administration and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency that are conducting additional studies as part of licensing and regulation of various products.
