Will point of use treatment systems take care of removing these things from the water?
We have not collected information to answer this question. However, while we now of no comprehensive testing of the comparative effectiveness of various treatment technologies for removal of these compounds, preliminary results in the scientific literature indicate that different treatment technologies can remove some of these compounds to varying degrees. This is an area of potential future research by USGS with water supply and health organizations.
