Frequently Asked Questions

Why did you measure substances for which there is no documented health or ecological effect?
Environmental research should not progress on a single front. Clearly, for those compounds for which health or ecological effects are well known, there is reason to undertake environmental studies of their movement and distribution. But, at the same time, studies need to be done to evaluate the movement and distribution of potentially harmful substances regardless of the state of knowledge about their health or ecological effects. The results of this study will be used to prioritize research on the health and ecological risks of these chemicals.
