Streamflow and Nutrient Flux of the Mississippi-Atchafalaya River Basin and Subbasins Through Water Year 2008

Streamflow and Net Nutrient Flux for Five Large Subbasins Comprising the Mississippi-Atchafalaya River Basin

The following list provide access to information on streamflow and annual net nutrient flux for five large subbasins comprising the Mississippi-Atchafalaya River Basin. The information is provided for the period 1979–2008 with confidence intervals. The net subbasin nutrient fluxes also are summarized for five 5-year periods and for the 25-year period including water years 1981 through 2005. Summarizing the data on 5-year periods improves the interpretability of the results by removing some of the year-to-year variability in stream runoff and canceling out some of the large errors present in the annual fluxes for some subbasins. Much of the variability in annual fluxes is typically controlled by the amount of annual runoff. This information extends the information provided by Aulenbach and others (2007) for the period of record through water year 2005 and uses the same approach and methodologies. A discussion of the net nutrient flux for the five large subbasins through water year 2005 is contained therein.
