Heterocyclic Compounds

Chemical compounds that are composed of one or more aromatic rings that contain nitrogen, sulfur, or oxygen in the ring structure. For example, quinoline (C9H7N), a nitrogen-containing compound, is the largest single component in the water-soluble fraction of creosote.
